Lux in europe

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I'm guessing that this company is not related to the Electrolux that owns Eureka, and its not related to Aerus either, so who are these guys anyway? It looks like the true decendent of the euro Lux canisters. Did Electrolux sell this design off to a company that goes by the Lux brand name? Its a cool looking machine, that's for sure.

Historically speaking, they are related. Lux was actually the originally name for the company out of Sweden. The logo even looks vaguely familiar to me, but there are those on this site who know more about this than I do so I'll defer to them. This machine looks similar to the Viking brand that was in the states about 20 years ago, but I don't think it is.

Lux International

European Lux line of vacs.....
From what I remember reading, the Lux line of vacs in Europe was the division of Swedish Electrolux that sold vacs door-to-door. It is now a large international direct-marketing vacuum company, which includes the strangely-named "Eureka-Forbes" vac company in India.

Here's their website:

Lux Royal D820 canister

I just saw it on youtube: .

It's sooooo quiet! I think it's too bad that the various "Lux" companies around the world won't get together and share information, or at least trade technology. This particular Lux doesn't seem to have a very substantial power nozzle compared to what we have in the U.S. Likewise, the American Luxes would be more attractive to me if they had a quieter motor.

it use to be electrolux

This luxes are only made and sold in germany, It used to be electrolux but this company went its own way and kept making thes machine. It is expesive as hell and you could compare it to vorwerk
