Help please. I have a Lux ap 100 on the shop, I replaced the cordwinder, put a new contact kit in, put it all back together plugged it in and it the vac was running and then it just stopped! What shall I do next???????/

Brad,
Did you get the problem with the AP 100 figured out???
I was thinking, even though you put new contacts in, did you try wiggling the front door just in case it was a poor contact?? The other thing that came to mind, I've seen them not work, and it's been the thermal protector on the motor, I just took it out and ran a straight wire to the basket and away it went. For some reason (my knowledge of electricity is very limited). all three wires must be running to the motor mounting basket, I've tried it with only two, and it wouldn't work.

thank you Vernon ...

I will try that tomarrow... I fiddled with the f....k ing thing to day and it would not go...so,, i will try this and let you know...

once again thanks..

Brad.

I figured it out!!

Ok.. it was the cordwinder!~!~!! AND.. the loose connection was right where the cord attatches to the inside of the winder... so I had the existing cord removed and a new cord put on the corwinder... hooked it up and YES!!! It works.. YAS.. A big lesson for me in the lux department.
