I managed to get lucky today. I was trolling around craigslist and find an "old vacuum - not working" listing.
I talked to the seller and he had the vacuum and a bunch of attachments. After some detailed questions, he let me know that the bottom plate said it was a model 513. He also let me know that the vacuum wouldn't turn on but said it use to work.
Well long story short, the kirby use to be his grandma's and she never really used the thing, but she bought it because she liked the salesman. She would see the salesman each week to pay her dollar payment and get to talk to gentlemen.
It looks a little rough, but the motor sounds great, like new. The cord was just old and lose on one end, no problem I just used a different cord.
The best part, the floor polisher and the bottle of SweetAir was never even opened, and the woven hose is still completely flexible and no frays.
I completely lucked out on this one.
