Lost my love for Kirby...

As my bursitis, arthritis, and stenosis have progressed a bit further, I find a Kirby simply too difficult to use, to heavy to carry form floor to floor, and too much bother to put into its various configurations. I have retired from professional cleaning (except for one client, and that ends at the end of this year) I gave them my Ultimate G, so as not to have to bring it each time I clean, and am looking for a home for my G4. Does anybody here want it? I have the shampooer and most of the tools.

I have carpet in the upstairs, but am seldom up there. I am going to put carpet tile throughout the downstairs. I need an easy to use canister. I am thinking about the Miele Jasper with the Air-Tech tool. Don't really need a power nozzle, I don't think anyway.

I understand. After my heart problems I sometimes don't have enough energy to clean house with my GSix. Especially, if I have to put the hose on and clean-up cat hair off ... well, every surface in the house. But, then again, on those days the Lux 1205, Fairfax and Oreck 9200 are not much easier. On those days I use the Royal 889 and do a room, take a brake, do another room, take a break.
Lord, it's tough this getting older.

I have to say Guy's

I am a Kirby/Lux guy all the way (depending on my mood). I have had the budget model Lux L's and now Classic series for years. I do sometimes use the power nozzle. Than I have my Factory rebuilt Dual 80, with a zippered green replacement bag from Kirby. Had a heavy duty coat zipper put in by my Dry Cleaners
Than attached it to Heritage emptor and Tube for inside. Just can not beat it.
I will admit I do have a Hoover Windtunnel light weight ( looks like an Oreck)
It does a great job on the carpeting, area rugs, easy to lift and do the stairs.
If in a real hurry, it will get most debree on the hard floors. Than not as well
as just toe touching the D-80 down to #1 (never have turned the belt to off)So
feel I have a complete cleaning team that is adaptable to my mood and needs. With
my 3 favorites, Kirby factory Rebuilt D-80 with all the attachments and Micro Filter throw a way bags. Hoover Windtunnel Lite weight, and my classic (as it is sold new by Areus)Lux, power nozzle and Side Kick!
All great suction, lite weigh and easy to use.

If I had carpet...

in more areas I would consider a Royal or D80. I have decided to go with laminate in the bedroom. The kitchen, pantry, and laundry are vinyl tile, and the bath is ceramic. The former living room is now my studio (floor is foam rubber tile), so I really have no upholstered furniture except my leather recliner, and only one mattress. Blinds at all the windows.

So, if I were to buy another vacuum, what I really need is a decent canister. I still have my Rainbow D4 and I do not want to part with it, but sometimes I just want to suck up the dog hair quickly.

Just checked my computer and I don't have any pictures of my Royal 889. I will have to go down to my storage shed and take some pictures and post them for you. I'll try and do that this weekend.
