Hello.

I'm interested in buying a new corded upright shark vacuum.
But, there are a lot of different models, and I want to know a bit more before I make my decision. I hope someone here could help me with this.

I'm from israel and the selection here is very very narrow, So my best option is to buy a vacuum from amazon.

But as I went through the different models in amazon US and amazon UK, I saw that there's a different model for every country.

The main vacuums I saw, From the US:
Shark AX952
Shark AZ2002
Shark AZ1002

Vacuums from UK:
Shark NZ801
Shark AZ910
Shark AZ950

Are these models even comparable between countries, Or are they just different names for the same vacuums from each country? because they all look very different from one another.

The one I wanted to get is the Shark AZ2002, By all the reviews I saw it seems a fantastic choice.
But, Unfortunately, the US models won't work with my country voltage.
(US 110V, UK and Europe 220V-240V)

So, Which shark should I choose. From the UK models?
I want the AZ2002 UK-like shark vacuum.

Sorry for any bad english, Hope you could understand and help me.

Thanks a bunch.

Hi Doron,

If you want a corded Shark, I would recommend getting the full size corded upright rather than any of the stick vacs. The stick vacs have smaller dirt containers and are not as sturdy as Shark’s full size uprights. Also the motor is right up at the top of the stick closer to your ears and could be annoying.

America’s Consumer Reports has tested a lot of the “Navigator” and “Powered Lift-Away” models and all of them scored pretty high in the ratings for bagless uprights (I much prefer old-fashioned bagged vacuum cleaners because they are easier to maintain.)

You are probably safer ordering your Shark from an Israeli seller right now because there are so few flights coming into Ben Gurion these days.

Take a look at the link below...it’s for a new model of the highly-rated Powered Lift Away. You will probably be very happy with this vacuum:

Your English is excellent.

I am not sure if anyone here knows the differences between US and UK Shark models. Give it some more time, hopefully someone else will chime in.

For what it's worth, I'm happy with most full size Shark uprights that I have seen. I didn't really like the Rotator, but I don't think they make those anymore.

I looked up the UK models, and apparently the AZ910 and AZ950 are the same except the 950 has a bigger dirt cup / bin. I am surprised they do not have a UK or EU version of the AZ2002.

Hey eurekaprince
Thanks for the replay.

As mentioned in my post, all the shark vacuums are upright and full size corded.
Also, I don't mind the wait or extra cost of shipping from outside of israel.

I prefer to choose which model I want to buy and not gettings whatever my country has in stock.

The NV750 in your link seems great vacuum, But I prefer a duo-clean head shark vacuum.

Thanks

Thanks MadMan :D

Yeah, it's a shame I can't get the AZ2002. I wanted to get it so bad.

And you're right. It seems the diff from the 950 and the 910 is just the bin size.

I guess, I will get the AZ910 non pet model just becaue it's looking better in my opinion and the price diff is very minimal.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Doron,

Okay - I understand. Just another idea - why limit yourself to the UK? Sharks are also sold in France and Germany and Holland. The UK models will have that very large UK plug for which you would have to use a bulky plug adapter for Israeli electrical outlets. I think the plugs on vacuums sold in the rest of Europe fit right into Israeli outlets. Maybe ask a friend who knows French or Dutch or German to help you translate Shark's other European web pages? You might even find the exact model you want in these other countries.

From my limited knowledge of the other languages, here are the words for vacuum cleaner you would need: aspirateur (French), staubsauger (German), stofzuiger (Dutch), aspiradora (Spanish).

You should check out the vacuum videos done by Ibaisaic (Roger in the UK). He has done several demonstrations of Sharks sold in the UK.

B'hatslacha! Good Luck! :-D

Are you sure you want a Shark?

Shark are really really low quality and they don't clean well. Also bagless will make your air dirtier than it already is.
I would strongly suggest staying away from Shark.

Bags have come a long way and are now really good at filtering.
With bagless vacuums you will be spending a lot of money on buying new filters but with bags for a Henry for example you can get a box of 10 Henry bags for 10 GBP which is a great value because those bags usually last you a month before you fill them up and once you need to change them it's easy and mess free.

Brands that i would recommend: Numatic Henry, Sebo, Miele, Nilfisk.

Brands that i would NOT recommend: Shark, Dyson and anything that is bagless.

What flooring are you going to clean? If you have all hard floors i recommend you get a Henry 160 of amazon.co.uk they are great for hard floors and are good value

If you have hard floors with some carpeting i would also recommend you get a turbo brush with the Henry.

If you have wall to wall carpet i would recommend you get a Sebo Felix of amazon.co.uk. They are really good uprights.

If you need a cordless vacuum the Henry Cordless is one of the best ones out there.
