Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking for a restoration project to keep me busy, so I was wondering if anyone has any faulty/broken vacuums (or ones just in generally bad condition) they are wanting to sell?

Thanks in advance,

P.S. I'm going away tomorrow until Friday, so I probably won't get back to anyone until I get home.

Did you start on your current collection?
It's best in you haven't already to start there, as they soon pile up and can take ages to clean.
If you need a pointers then I'm here to help!

Thanks Jake, I've restored all of the vacs in my collection all ready, apart from a Numatic Henry which I'm working on now.

Kirby505, I think shipping would be a bit out of my budget from the USA to the UK, but thanks for the offer.

Well, it does, however the motor slows slightly after a few minutes. Never run it long enough oncethat starts to see what happens. It could clear itself up and be fine, or it could burst into flames and burn down a church full of nuns. Bit like the lottery really!

Idetailed it in the thread, but I got given it, and the motor ran fine. I stripped it down, spa-day'd it, then wired the motor up the wrong way causing it to momentarily catching fire and singing the motor filter. Swapped the wires round and it ran fine at first, then started slowing

It could be carbon deposits left on the armature, or something else that may clean up in use. I cant be bothered to strip it down enough to see. Perfect order everywhere else, as godo as new!

Your call. I'll need to find a box and get some bubblewrap first, and going away for a week next week so no rush. I may stick her outside on a dry day plugged in through an RCD and see what happens, or 'll leave it alone as a good spares machine!

There's a video on youtube pre-cleanup to prove it did work! Sounds like that now for a few seconds, may film that and see what you think.
