Looking for a possible new carpet cleaner

Hello all. So potty training with my new puppy is so-so. My family is having trouble as am I. He's done his business on the kitchen rug MANY times (both number 1 and number 2). I've treated the stains with Kirby's Pet Stain remover with (mostly) excellent results. The hardest part are the large stains. I remove the bulk of them, I treat it, and 75-95% of the stain. I've followed the rest of the directions too, but that's another story. Shampooing with the Kirby gives me GREAT results, the carpet looks good, the stains disappear, and after vacuuming, there's no more soil! However if the stains aren't treated with a stain remover ASAP (from the puppy or not), they have a hard time coming out. Let me cut to the chase, I'm debating whether or not I should purchase an upright carpet cleaner that I can use when in between cleanings with my Kirby shampooer since it takes time to set up (not that I don't mind it). I would like suggestions on some good carpet cleaners. I'd like to avoid something like a rug doctor as that would be overkill for mostly a kitchen rug, but I welcome any and all suggestions. If you recommend the newer multi surface Kirby shampooer or another dry foam shampooer, that's fine too!

If you're talking about accidents in a localized area, maybe something like the Bissel Little Green machine might work for you, very easy to use. If you're talking about rooms of wall-to-wall carpet, the least expensive Hoover is what my friends who own a vac shop recommends, simple to use and easy to maintain. I'm a firm believer for pet accidents, extraction would be the only way to go, get it up and out!

I recently got a new puppy as well I've always kept a Bissell SpotBot for this sort of thing even though they're relatively low quality they get the job done.
Of course you want enzyme-based cleaner.

I would highly recommend investing in a Rug Doctor now that their prices have come down and you can find a blue line unit for about 300 New.
Stay away from their cheaper Redline as parts are not available.

The spot bot is a good option, but just don't expect it to be built that well, if you baby it you'll get years of use from it, but use it rough or fail to maintain it well and it won't last. If I had the need for such a thing I would, despite my loathing of cheap products, wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Other than my usual complaints about the build quality, I don't like that it doesn't have the ability to mix the detergent and run a rinse before it finishes, as most detergent out there will leave a sticky residue. I'd recommend either spraying an enzyme spot remover first, then running the machine with just warm water, or getting a detergent such as the Lindhaus stuff (see link) that doesn't leave anything sticky behind.

You really can't go wrong with this suggestion, its far superior to the usual "household" machine garbage. Another one I like is actually the Bissell Big Green, its similar to the Rug Doctor as well. Both are built very well and will outlast the SpotBot many times over, clean many times better, and you can have the ability to clean all the carpet too which with a dog you'll probably want to do a complete annual cleaning anyway.
