Hi. Does anyone know where a good place is to get Dirt Devils from the 90's? I am especially looking for a Dirt Devil Broom Vac and a Dirt Devil Lite/Lite Plus/Upright Plus. If anyone has any info on where I can get these, that would be great! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, Drake! Unfortunately, finding a Dirt Devil upright from that era (except for the Broom Vac) is not that easy to do. They used sealed motors, and when used regularly tended to have a relatively short lifespan. I just purchased a Dirt Devil upright mdl. 7200 off eBay a few months ago with a smooth running motor. Unfortunately, the base of the unit has a bad crack by one of the rear wheels, so unless I can locate another one, the cleaner is practically useless. Even at that time, Dirt Devil gets a flunking mark for build quality. I wish you luck in your search.

Yes

I am looking for those. I need a lot more, but I do have a start to some DDs from the 90's. They are hard to find, and in my lifetime I have only once seen a "Deluxe" upright on ebay, and on power pak, and one can vac, ect. They are very hard to come across. The most common problem with the Deluxe/ MVP was the bag cover would crack. I was told the motors in the Power Paks and Can Vacs went bad, and so would the switch. All of the soft bagged ones were just cheap, and unbearably loud! I do hope you get some though.:)

Thanks Chase and Karl!

Oh and Chase, I saw a Dirt Devil Deluxe at the thrift store once. I probably could have gotten it for around 10 bucks or so but I bought a Bissell and a Hoover instead.

I have a dirt devil plus..

I have a Dirt Devil Plus upright and I just added a picture of it. Its not for sale because it was the only vacuum I remember my Grandpa having until 2 or 3 years ago when he gave it to me because the hose connector broke. now he has a bissell cleanview which was also on its way out when I used it last (the bearings were getting noisy). I just thought you might like the story!!

Hey dustin,

How did the hose connector thing break? I know that your Dirt Devil Upright Plus is not for sale, but I still think it's cool that you have one in your collection!

I think the selector switch thing got stuck and then he forced it and then it broke the plastic that holds the hose. it is only broken where the screws go through the connector.so I have it taped in place right now but I glued it once, but it didnt hold.

Oh I see! That kind of what happened with my green Dirt Devil Plus handvac except, the part where the screws screw in the motor and the part where the screws in on the right side of the metal plate on the bottom, is broken!
