Well, anyone that knows me will know I don't usually (ever) sing Dyson's praises but I have decided to give a newer model a try, have the DC01 but one could say there is a slight age difference! The newest Dyson I have used is the DC25, I did use the DC41 for all of 30 seconds so can't really judge it.

I got it Direct from Dyson and it says it is the "2015" model, which I presume the only difference is the new model has a grey shroud and cyclone and a lower wattage motor.

I am quite looking forward to it coming, which is something I didn't think I would say.

I will post pictures when it arrives.

Alex.

One thing I would say Alex is the ball takes a couple of weeks to wear in then it becomes soooooooo easy to manoeuvre it makes vacuuming a breeze :-)

that's cool what day do you think it's coming.if you ordered it b4 2 to 3 clock you get it next day

Cool, my neighbour a few doors away has a multi floor DC40 since like 2012
Would love to see a comparison video to like a TP2 or something

Pretty exciting! A hardcore hoover fan trying out the latest Dyson (sort of latest)

this model came out the same time as the dc41mk2 its the new and improved dc40 so it isn't rubbish at all

DC40 step aside Turbopower is coming through, don't worry I have not gone Dyson mad, I just bought it to see if I like it, I am still a bagged baby!!

I am not sure what to expect, as far as I am concerned, it is a new toy to play with! :D

Yes it is very impressive it's also the best I've used on hard floors which also suggests it has lots of airflow. So excellent agitation and lots of airflow. The 2 ingredients needed to deep clean carpets :-)

What amazes me is how on earth it can beat carpets without any beaters?!
Early DC40 models have very stiff bristles but dont really do it's good as the new 41 mk2, and the DC25 has two rows of thick, nylon bristles which kinda beat the carpet

Agree Tayyab, the suction on most Dyson's is fine, just let down by a crappy brushroll. Hence I prefer their cylinders to their uprights.

At the time I first used the DC40, I did think it was the highest performing Dyson I'd used to date. I didn't like the handle - it was too flexible. But it was a nice size and a good performer by Dyson standards [this post was last edited: 1/24/2015-05:45]

It doesn't look that crappy in the agitation video. That's what the brushroll is there for isn't it to agitate? I've not seen much better agitation than that. Maybe the metal royal is one but I can't think of many.

Anyway what's the point of arguing about it? I've seen how clean my carpets are after using the Dyson as clean if not cleaner than any other vacuum cleaner I've used previously including Sebo, Miele and Kirby. Not bad for a crappy cleaner with a crappy brushroll ;-)
