Look what I bought

A beautiful Bronze PN-1 all original!!
I also bought the bronze G book. They did not come together.
I have a beautiful bronze G that needed a book and a PN-1.
I don't think this thing got used more than once or twice, the picture does not do it justice. It is NICE and sounds perfect.

Hey Phillip, I have the same pn/wand, however no chrome ring at the top. Do you think it had one at one time and it came off, or never had one?

good question Rick, The one in the instruction book doesn't show one either. It just looks like plastic all the way up. My turquoise one has the metal ring also. Do you think there might have been a difference between the PN for the G and L models? Like maybe the one made for the G might have been all plastic where as the L had a metal ring??

Interesting question. I just ran down and checked my tan PN1s. I was sure I had one without the chrome top. Charlie just sent me a completely restored Tan G. That one had a chrome top. Went back down and checked the other one. Sure enough it didn't. So they must have made them both ways.

I dont know if this is correct but I was told that the metal top ones were the originals and the plastic top ones were later replacements.

Many congratulations, Phillip, on your most beautiful acquisition!

I, too, know the joy of finding one of these vintage Electrolux Power Nozzles in very gently-used condition!

The full-sheath Electrolux PN-1 (prior to 1968, when Sara Lee bought Electrolux) is quite lovely. It seems that what you have here is a late Model G PN-1 (circa 1967), which would have also been contemporaneous with the 1967 Model L. In fact, unless I am mistaken in my somewhat pedestrian knowledge...you may very well have one of the very last PN-1s that were manufactured before the Sara Lee takeover.

At any rate...were I to offer you any suggestions with regard to caring for your Power Nozzle, I'd say to keep it out of direct sunlight (as it's housing is plastic), give it a nice Armor-All treatment every now and again (to keep it shiny), and use it every so often! :-D
