The Turbopower 2 was very short lived really, 10 years. 1992-2002.

Still can't believe the Henry is still going after 34 years, with only slight modifications, like motor changes, slightly different lettering, switch and exhaust placement and bucket styling. other than that it has always stayed the same, it has always been powerful and has always been quiet and reliable.

The Royal!

..may be a contender depending on a judgement call . Model numbers and names are sometimes just marketing. The. Hoover Portapower was first the Swingette i believe. It would edge out the Aerus Legacy depending on how you apply the as of yet nearly noexistent guidlines.
The Compact/Tristar is better than these two but depends if one allows the current model is close enough in design. The EXL was close enough in my book, the MG (i think it's called) maybe not. I haven't seen one side by side to the old. I think it is likely close enough.

So depending on how you see things could the Royal top the Pig? I will defer to those more knowledgeable, but i think it might.

The basic Hoover Convertible design is still in production in commercial variations but when did it begin? I'm not asking when was the first Convertible model produced but rather when was that basic design introduced by Hoover?

Longest Running Vac

Much good information above.
Other than the NSS if we mean a vac where the current and first look the same from 50 feet away we should go back to the current Sanitaire(as above)which came from the Eureka that was one of the first and best post war vacs from about 1948.
As to Hoover the first Convertible was 1957 but if we look for the design of rotating brush, belt, fan, motor and bag we would be at the Model O of 1907 and most Hoovers since.
