so guys, my favorite dirt digger is my Concept1, from 91 I think, self propelled. It is also my daily driver. My buddy/ bf??? wants to clean the heavy plush carpet in his mom's house, fine, but they have an Oreck.I said you need me to vacuum and pick it up good first. They have 3 dogs, I do not want my concept smelling like dog. I have a like new Decade 80, I think cleans almost as well and I do not use it often.??? I would of course change the bag the moment I get it home, could I use the Concept and avoid smell for weeks after?? What ya think?

well....

let me say this. my mom has two dogs and two cats, and I use machines at her house all the time. but I do change the bag IMMEDIATELY after, and I've never had that trouble....

What i would do it i would use some sort of bag freshner juring the vacuuming of his mothers house and then still change the bag right away!

best of luck :)

I keep one in there all the time! I know both clean well, of course its easier for me with the self propelled, hate to harm either

I know. I loaned out one of my vacuums for pre carpet shampooing/post carpet shampooing years ago. I caught my former friend sucking up dirty water out of the carpet with my vacuum. It ruined it and I had to throw it away. Still do not loan out any of your machines. I strongly recommend using the Oreck instead of using one of your machines. The machine that was ruined was a Hoover WindTunnel bagged self propelled upright.

Again, I go with it. only a mile away, she has very thick sculpted light color rug, it needs a good beating. I have already told him I needed to vacuum it myself first, just do not want my machine smelling after. His mom would already have us married I think if it were her doing, he is still dragging the feet on getting in deeper, so yes I want to make him happy

I would use the Concept One, sprinkel some kind of deoderizer like Oreck's Crystal Aroma, sparingly, then vacuum very, very well. Don't bother with the lady's Oreck as it will not deep-clean, even with a new bag and belt. Your Hoovers will out clean the Oreck by miles. If possible I'd use some kind of Pre-Treatment or Spot Remover before shampooing and then used clean water to rince afterward.

Carpet Cleaning

If the carpet has pet stains they can be sometimes impossible to remove. I know from experience, having 20+ years experience in cleaning carpets. Personally I would recommend truck-mounted cleaning as truck mounts have a massive amount of high heat, high pressure, and high suction that will thoroughly clean the carpet. I have cleaned carpets using this method, for over 20 years, and have cleaned what looked like "trashed out" carpet, and after cleaning with a truckmount the results are astonishing.

Or U can use a Rainbow D4SE w/PN & it'll smell fresh & clean because U dump out the dirty water after vacing. DO NOT try to pick up carpet freshener (Love My Carpet) with a Rainbow; carpet freshener won't mix in the water like typical household dirt can.
