Ok, I know I am not the most computer literate person in the world, but I would like to join and pay the annual membership via PayPal, but can't find where to do it.. It's probably right in front of my face somewhere :)
I don't fly so It would be difficult to attend a convention anytime soon, but this forum has given me hours of great information and fun over the past couple of years so I would like to sign up.

Thanks.

BTW love the new site design. Great job to all those involved

I checked the other night and it wasn't up yet, but I just did it now and it worked... click on where it says "upgraded days" in the blue text on the upper right of the screen and it will take you to the page... then just log into paypal... if you want to add a little extra to help out, enter that before clicking on the "donate" button.

Very easy!

I echo your post... we should consider getting together sometime since we live so close :o)

On the main page click on the area "upgraded days" right below the sign out button, it should be in there.

By joining Vacuumland you're not joining the VCCC any longer, you have to join the VCCC separately now for the convention .

Thanks Pete and the rest of you gusy!

Yes I got finally got that Paypal connection working today over my lunch hour today, but I was way too busy at work today to make a formal post about it yet.

However, there are two things I'd like to stress.

#1 As Pete said, joining Vacuumland is just joining the site only. If you want to join the VCCC or any other of the vacuum clubs they have their own membership rules and fee. Remember Vacuumland now is stand alone and the VCCC operates separately.

#2 The max allowed upgraded time on Vacuumland is 365 days. My reasons for that is when I started doing this three years ago on automaticwasher.org, some members wanted to sign up for many years all at once. I stopped that right away because in case something would happen and I became unable to operate the site and it went down (probably would only take a few weeks before it failed due to lack of necessary maintenance), I would feel bad that people had purchased more time that I couldn't deliver. So in other words, if you have 12 days left and upgrade, the counter is set to 365, not 378. So its best to wait to upgrade until the counter is near or at 0.

Hope that makes sense to all. Thanks guys for joining.

What would be really great is if you could pay from an iTunes/whatever the android marketplace is account. Instead of just Paypal.

Upgrade way!

Hi Robert, as we are used to, you always work hard and get wonderful results!. This time I ask you how can I upgrade BUT using my Visa card, intead Pay Pal. I've never use PP, but I consider better (for me) using my Visa. What should I do? How can I send you my card number in a safe way, etc. Perhaps it's better to answer through my e-mail address if you consider it right, well whatever, just tell how, please. My regards Gus.

Hey Guys, right now I have no other way of accepting donations, except PayPal. Paypal takes credit cards even if you don't have an account with them. I do realize that PayPal is blocked in some countries, so if it is blocked in Uruguay, please let me know and we can figure out something.

Robert, I thought about that after I joined... you gave everyone a free 45 day trial and when I paid to join, that disappeared and the counter set to 365... so for other people who haven't upgraded yet, you may well want to wait... for me, I don't really care. I supported something I believe in and now I don't have to worry about it...

For anyone who is on the fence about whether or not to upgrade, I was a little disturbed at first too because it's never fun to be charged for something you used to get for free, but honestly Robert has shouldered the cost for this for too long and that isn't fair... we really should have been paying all along!

And separating from the VCCC is the best thing that could have happened to Vacuumland... hopefully the politics and drama will be over with now. The VCCC is irrelavent to anyone who can't attend a convention. I don't know how the VCCC will grow/survive if it can't really advertise to new people and if attending the convention (and getting the newsletter) are the only reasons to join, but it doesn't matter to me right now. If I retire or win the lottery and the VCCC still exists, I may be able to attend a convention :o)

Thank you Bobby, I appreciate your support.

I really wish you guys wouldn't bash the VCCC. It still is a wonderful organization and it's not that expensive really. I do know it is out of reach cost wise for some people to travel, but if you can these clubs are a great way to actually meet everyone in person. The internet is nice, but when we hosted the Minneapolis convention here a few years ago the feeling of being around so many who share a common interest is nearly overwhelming. It's a wonderful feeling and I hope people will continue to come to the conventions of their clubs. The VCCC is going to make some needed changes I'm sure and will be stronger than ever. Fred and I plan on staying a member and we might join other clubs as well sometime, who knows.

Vacuumland now is just a central meeting place where people from any club can and those who aren't a member of any specific club can come together in one safe space.

Remember the internet is nice but this is simply amazing...

Robert, I don't have a problem with VCCC, but I do worry about its long term survival. I knew how awesome it is to share your passion with people in real life... the few times I was lucky enough to go to Terry's, I had a blast. I'm sure the conventions are fun, but they aren't possible for everyone and that makes the VCCC irrelavent for those people.

Upgrade Way

Rob, I'm sorry my insisting on the topic, I think this is due to my absence of knowledge, anyway, I'm intending to pay my fee for $12 but before I go to an exchange shop, I think I should know: what's your account number in Pay Pal or your account name, I mean some sort of reference to be able to send you the money. Or else tell what should I do to get Pay Pal work for you and consequently for me. Thank you, Gus. You may send  me an e-mail to [email protected] if you consider it better.

No problem what so ever Gus, I do appreciate your support.

I just sent you a Vacuumland message with the proper information.

Rob, today 4/15/13 I haven't received any post from you. I'm not in any harry but just write to let  you know this fact. Take it easy there are still many days ahead. Saludos  to you and Fred Gus
