Great vacuum!
I bought the green version without the mini turbo nozzle for my parents about 7 years ago. It really is a great carpet cleaner, and with the brush shut-off switch, it's not bad at picking up surface litter on floors. The cord is really long and never needed to be plugged in more than once in a large one bedroom apartment. Suction through the hose is very good for tool use - which is also a downside. There is no suction valve control on the hose to reduce the power. So when you try to use the tools, the hose contracts and you are constantly fighting with it to stretch it to reach where you need it. Also, I found these newer cheap Hoover upholstery nozzles practically useless for fabrics - the edges are so sharp that it can ruin any fabric, especially anything with stitching like bedspreads. There are no "lint-grabber" strips or even a small row of bristles to reduce the "suction lock" the plastic nozzle ends up having on fabrics.
I even bought the optional extra reach hose and floor brush so that my Dad could use this Windtunnel to clean their bare floors more easily. That Hoover floor brush is really well designed - with its one strip of bristles down the centre of the brush which allows dirt pick on the back stroke as well as the forward stroke. But those springy Hoover stretch hoses are a pain to use - you are constantly fighting the "spring-back" effect, and if you stray too far from the vacuum, the unit tips over. I can't understand the fascination with these Hoover 3-1 stretch hoses...
