LG Kompressor

Has anyone gotten any of the LG Kompressors yet? Im looking at possibly getting one to clean up after the 3 dogs (2 Huskeys and a German Shepard). Currently using a dyson for that, but it fills up so fast. Plus its almost shot anyway.
Buy.com has them on sale, the upright is only $199.

Anyone have any thoughts on them?

I have the LG

LUV300B I like it better than my Dyson DC28 Air Muscle. The LG Kompressor actually compresses the dirt into a cube and you can vacuum longer with out dumping it out. They also copied the Windtunnel nozzle design .It really picks up a ton of dirt. The only thing as with all bagless models it is bulky and very heavy. I got mine brand new on eBay when they first came out I paid $65.00 brand new in the box .

i dont like bagless vacs, but i even think its pretty cool, compressing dirt is inherit of most direct air vacs, but im almost positve this one isnt.

for the right price its worth a shot.

Consumer Reports really likes the Lg Kompressor vacs.....in the bagless upright category, the LuV400T Total Care vac is ranked number 3 only outdone by the Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Models UH70120 and 70110. The LuV400T had test results very similar to the Dyson DC28 Animal (the LG is better at carpet cleaning and pet hair removal, the Dyson has better airflow through the hose for tool use.) The LG Kompressor LuV300 and LuV200 also did quite well, though are ranked further down the list. Stay away from the cheaper LuV250C - it has only "good" carpet cleaning, and only "fair" pet hair removal and "fair" airflow through the hose for tool use.

In the bagless canister category, the LG Kompressor LcV900B is the top-rated machine! Though only "fair" in handling and pet hair removal, it is "very good" in all other categories, including carpet cleaning, bare floor cleaning and airflow through the hose for tool use. It is also relatively quiet compared to the other bagless machines. The Hoover Platinum bagless canister S3865 runs a close second to that LG canister - it removes pet hair better but is noisier.

Consumer Reports seems to now be returning to their previous tradition of providing more detailed descriptions of their evaluations for vacuum cleaners. Here is the evaluation of the highly-rated LG Kompressor LuV400T Total Care bagless upright:

CR's Take

Superb carpet cleaning makes this Kompressor model one of the best bagless uprights for carpets. You also get excellent bare-floor and pet-hair pickup, along with manual carpet-height adjustment (better for matching the brush to the surface), suction control (helps protect drapes when using tools), and a brush on/off switch (to safeguard bare floors and prevent scattered debris). And sure to its name, a revolving blade compresses what's in the bin for added capacity and easier emptying. Also remember that emptying a bagless vac's bin is a dusty, messy chore. And airflow for tools was only mediocre. Among upright brands, LG has consistently been among the top performers over the past several years.

Detailed test results

CARPET CLEANING: The LG Kompressor Total Care LuV400T does an excellent job of removing the embedded mixture of sand and powder from our soiled test carpets. This is a measure of how well a vacuum removes the dirt hidden deep in the carpet and not visible to the user's eye.

BARE FLOOR: The LG does an excellent job of removing sand from our vinyl floor, leaving very little behind and not scattering sand across the floor.

PET HAIR: This model does an excellent job at picking up pet hair from carpets using its power head. The visual inspection of the test carpet following the pet hair test reveals no traces of pet hair left behind and very little pet hair caught in the brush roll.

USABILITY: The Kompressor has a unique feature of a rotating blade inside the dust bin to compact debris. The modern design takes a bit of getting used with the tools, wand and vacuum integrating with one another. Its design is a bit bulky making vacuuming under furniture limited and carrying up stairs a bit daunting.
