Let's Start A Revelation

In all the Compact branded cleaners, there were only three different motors during the years. The C-1 and C-2 models used the 'old style' 5 amp Lamb motor. There was no C-3. The C-4, C-5. C-6, C-7, and early C-8 all used the later Lamb motor (like your Eureka canned ham). The late C-8 and C-9 used the "high efficiency" Lamb motor. The first Tri-Star used a 2 speed Lamb motor (like a Filter Queen).

The C-1 launched in 1947 though 1950
The C-2 ran 1950 - the end of 1955
The C-4 ran 1956 - 1960
The C-5 (single swivel caster and first power nozzle) ran 1960 - 1962
The C-6 (double swivel caster and power nozzle on "PB" models) ran 1963 - 1966
The C-7 ran 1967 - 1969
The C-8 (first in green with no PN - then in gold With PN) ran 1970 - 1980
The C-9 (blue) ran 1980 - 1982
The C80 (dark blue) ran 1983 - 1984

The Revelation matched the C-2, C-4, C-5, and C-6

The Compact "standard" was a C-5 and C-6 (salmon color, painted rug and floor nozzle). The Compact "Electra" was the deluxe model with polished rug and floor nozzle.

Revelation!

Here's mine, a model C-2. It was a gift from fellow collector Norm Brown several years ago when he was downsizing his collection. Thanks again, Norm!

Interstate made the C-4 model for other sales venues well into the mid 1960's. They even made them (for export) under other, odd names. They also made them for the EMDEKO sales outfit. EMDEKO was a multi-level sales company during the 1960's. Filtex made "Endeko" models as did Interstate. There were also "Emdeko" sewing machines and cookware. Unlike Amway, the prospect would go to a showroom and be 'sucked in' to joining and buying from the EMDEKO organization. Supposedly to save money. By making a previous model available for those types of organizations, it kept the 'current' C-5 and C-6 models exclusively for the door to door salesmen.
