What a great machine, and all the better being 'family'. Well, grandmother. I have several from 'family' lol. That is a really beautiful vacuum, clearly she took very good care of it (for you!!)
Congrats!

charles you may start where ever you like the WWII ERA I think is the most intresting time where companies came out with many new designs and products to help with the war effort.
My favourites in my collection; Hoover 725, dustette 100 & early Goblin 'Ace' G55.
Does anybody have a spare G55 switch/flex plug housing thats in good condition that they wish to sell .....a friend has just finished restoring an early 55 but the subject part spoils it ?
My Grandmother used the Goblin till she died in 1969. I was two when I inherited it. It kind of started things off. I've done alot of work restoring it too. When I got it most of the parts were missing, it was dirty from being in the basement and didnt work well (as I recall grandma also had a Regina electric broom by that time that she used alot). I made the accessory kit incidentally.
Re: spare switch housing. I'm not sure if I kept one from the one I used for parts but I'll take a look.
This is the commercial Goblin machine from the same era (Goblin Major)
