Let's hope these don't end up vivisected at the Scrap Metal Yard.

What a lovely bunch. If I lived anywhere close by I'd gladly pay $499.99 for this hoard and I'm sure the seller would let anyone make several trips to haul it all away.

From the 35 of 57 vacuums he has been able to photo-post several armload-fulls of some of these vacuums would be well worth the hassle to pick up and it could all be paid for by ebaying the rest.

Well, I just had to say something and the auction goes off in 6 hours. With any luck one of our kind will snap these up and if not, here's the link in case it gets re-listed.

If it does not get re-listed and one of our members in the Lenoir NC area (NW of Charlotte, East of Ashville and south of Virginia State) is interested and has the means to pick up and store I'm sure you'd have no trouble contacting the seller post-auction to arrange something. You'd also have no end of inquiries from members to help relieve you of the excess poundage by whatever means...I'd be a grateful participant in aiding this personal retrieval myself in November. :-)

Just loathe the thought that these might end up in the crusher.
Of course, it's a gamble but look at the pictures. For the price of gas plus $8.77 per vacuum + hose + wands (maybe), what a bargain for an instant collection!

Dave, thinking what fun it would be to match up hoses to machines...

Just look again at the turquoise Westinghouse 'big wheel' with tools!

The Jet 99, The Atlas, The Hamilton-Beach, the blue Lewyt on caster base, 4 Filter Queens including the red/white one and a brown Model 200, a Kenmore Commander, Eurekas and Royals, oh my...

Be still my trembling heart...

Wow, I must say that looks like some nice nice vacs there! I would love to have that Lux CA!!! Among others I wouldn't mind having the Tri-Star, so if one of ya'all might want to sell either of the Lux or Tri-Star let me know.

Glas someone bid and fingers crossed it is Rick/Terry.

Is one of youse guys be the winning single bid?! Didja go dutch? Would you like a 3rd partner? Can we talk??? I know the Westinghouse is spoken for but that blue Lewyt & trolley and green Jet 99 or Hamilton Beach mighten not be yet...

Crazy Davy, deep pockets, long distance, something can be worked out. Might even induce me to roadtrip down to Georgia and Florida in early November...

Hey Dave, yes it was Rick and I! This should be a lot of fun!! Terry

Terry,

I know I said I was going nite-nite....but just HAD to make a statement.

We don't know what would have become of these machines. They may have been destined for the scrap heap, who knows. Just as important as the machines - are the shop manuals. Just think of the hours of pleasure they will bring when we cart them to the convention next year. They are in loose leaf binders, so copies can be easily made. Additionally, who knows what wasn't shown in the pictures??? The seller is four hours away from me, so I figure with loading and driving it's about a ten hour vacuum day. Terry and I will keep every one posted on the developments as the occur.

WEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Rick

I am so frickin' proud of you two insaniacs !

Looking forward to the double-wide Garage Door Glamor Shot, Rick. :-)

Let's see, Snellville GA to Lenoir NC comes to 233.9 miles, 4 hours 11 minutes at legal speeds one way on Streets & Trips. Snellville to Ruskin FL 7 hours 46 minutes.

Dave, sharing the joy and pain vicariously. WHEEEE-INDEEDEEEE_DO_DA_DAY...
