I purchased the Electrolux Commemorative Edition that was advertised here on VLand and the machine unlike the first one I purchased, is actually new and unused ✌🏽✨✨✨✌🏽 The seller was very kind and he provided a demo via Facetime to validate the condition and performance of the machine. The new car smell is rockin and the hose is sealed !!! I’m stoked!!! No thread hijacking or low jacking please 😆[this post was last edited: 2/18/2022-13:21]

I wonder how many of the 1000 are still around?

I also wonder how many are unused?

I personally would never let this touch dirt which is why I would find it hard to have one of these.

Eventually in time any unused examples should be preserved for the future.

Just my opinion.

Great machine though.

Lightning never strikes twice? Psyche!

Glad you finally righted the wrong and came away happy :)

Funny they spelled the poor guy's name wrong on the outer label, lol

Wow what a find! I'm glad you're the one who was able to grab it:) This is my most favorite metal body Electrolux of all time. As always, thanks for sharing! I always love viewing your amazing threads:)

I know where there are two of these unused and unawarded, in addition to the one I obtained from Electrolux for the VCCC (who knows what they did with it?). I remember taking mine out of the box, that nice smell, and then I used it to clean the house many times.

Detroit dirt bag….I think you missed something

The commemorative editions were given to the sales reps. And Electrolux had one made for each rep with their name on it. Some reps have passed away or otherwise aren’t interested in the machines and therefore are starting to get passed along. There is an earlier thread that talks about this machine being for sale and there is reference to it’s history and Ron Deeley.

The trio of vacs are all Electrolux Commemorative Editions. I’ve gathered them over the course of several years. My first one was a VIP CE that was presented to Gary Griffin, who at the time, was president of Electrolux. The second one is one of the un-awarded models that Tom Gasko spoke of that I purchased from him. My third one was an eBay purchase just a couple of years ago. The seller said it was given to their mother who used it, but it doesn’t have an award plaque on it, so I can’t be sure. Thanks!
Steve
