One that i now proudly own!
I've been waiting weeks for this, and finally the original buyer droped out, and $30 later it was in my car!
Yes, You know the Kirby I Speak of...
THE 1979 KIRBY TRADITION!
I'm glad to finally take her home! I believe this a December '79 model, judging from what I believe is a date on the fan housing cast, And last time I check it had a suction relief vent in blue? Just the like Classic models (I'll have to double check when I get home later on). I popped a modified Royal style B bag in, and have to say, I'm sadly not too impressed with this model, I tried adjusting the brush (I adjusted it a bit too much, and the belt began burning
), And while it appears to pick up sufficient dirt and pet hair, It does not not (If barely) Groom the carpeting as a Kirby should, what am I to do? I've heard of the issue with the fill-tubes being to narrow, Does it really put THAT much of dent in the machine's performance?
Anyways, I'm sorry I currently Do not have any pictures (The card on my camera ran full last night), I'll have to clear-off the card today and take some pictures of the machine (Along with the pictures of the TOWA EX66 Typewriter, Too whom it may concern).
The Switch in the headlight is defiantly, "Interesting", Let's put it that way.
What I don't get is how Kirby missed that if the Headlight was down, the machine would power on, allowing contact with the fan (Yikes!).
Certainly an interesting machine to own,
Please let me know what you guys think.
-Alex.
