Ok, I’m out of control, two ‘new’ Kirby’s to my vacuum Arsenal added in one weekend!! I didn’t get any attachments with it unfortunately :-(. Love the color though . Look at my previous post about my Classi III . After a thorough cleaning, all works great except the headlight eventhigh the bulb is good. I’ll go to the local Kirby shop tomorrow and have them look at it ( I see a small electrical spark in the lighting housing when the power is turned on .....anyone have any suggestions for getting it to work? I made sure that the two prongs were seated properly as well....to no avail. Darn. Oh well. My ‘sickness’ Is growing like the rest of you vacuum fanatics here! Haha

Test to see if there's actually line voltage at the light socket? If there's a legit spark going on, you might have a bare wire or something.

The Legend (as did the Classic III) use 12V 1156 car backup light bulbs with one center prong. Make sure the correct one is in there and the socket contacts are not mashed or deformed. Check wiring for possible braks as well.
The reason for the 12V bulb is a thicker filament which is better suited for high-vibration equipment.

ok, found the issue, the bulb had some eroding at the 'end' of it...from arching I suppose. We cleaned and slightly pulled out ( towards the bulb)the contact metal where the bulb fits into. Works now! Also, found out I put the brush-roll back in ...backwards...which explains the wrong sounds I heard while vacuuming AND when I put it back in correctly, my belt indicator light worked, duh!! Found that the seal around the opening of the fan was messed up, replaced it and now the vacuum works perfectly! I love it. Only wish the power cord matched the color ( someone replaced it). I may have to fix that myself

I just ran across an auction on eBay last week, can't find it now, but there was a guy selling all different colors of Kirby power cords from each series. I think they were about $8 or so.
