Hello!
A few days ago I was at my local thrift shop looking around for some vacs. I was seeing tons of powerforce helixes, crappy dysons, and more assorted plasticrap. When I stumbled across this Kirby legend II! It ran well but it had no price tag. I showed an employee and they said it’s $7! I felt so happy I almost cried. I serviced it and it runs well. All it needs is a brushroll which I’ll get from my local vac shop soon.

I figured the shake out bag was rare, it’s in perfect condition too! What scent tabs does everyone recommend to keep it smelling fresh.

I do love finding those dirt cheap thrift store deals. I've gotten a few deals like that, including a Legend 2 for $10 that had needed work on the rear axle assembly and had a cord and foot switch from a Classic Omega. In those situations, I always feel like I should be looking out for security as I head for the door because I know I just 'stole' the thing.

I imagine that shakeout bag is super rare, as that would be the very last model to offer one. If it were mine, I'd be tempted to get a conventional filter bag assembly and run it with that to preserve the shakeout bag. Swapping back and forth takes literally a minute. Either way, get that thing polished up and let us see it in all its glory!

Those things are pretty easy to find on eBay, either as separate parts or as a unit. I have a gray Heritage II bag, minus the 'innards' (mini em-tor, fill tube and bag coupling). I think it has a topper on it, but I don't remember for sure. I'm on my way out of town right now, but I'll check on it when I get home, if you're interested.

This machine truly deserves a FULL refurb and polishing. Check out 'KirbyEnthusiast' on YouTube, he has some really good refurb and polishing how-to videos.
Looking at the images there are no obvious battle scars. No deep scratches in the aluminim, no gouges in the furniture guard, bag appears perfect, everything is there. Looks like it has had very little use. Should polish up beautifully. What a remarkable find.
