I'm not sure about any of it. But, I've been asked/offered to be "retained" as an "expert" about Hoovers, especially 1960-70 models.
I was "found". Expert was their term, not mine. One could cook on a grill and declare ones self as a chef.... hand drapes, and proclaim yourself as a decorator. I have a (rather substantial) Hoover collection......my home was deemed a museum. Ridiculous, really. But, to quote the great Johnny Matthis, "It's not for me to say". I'll fill you in when more info becomes available.
It seems that they might want to photograph models. We'll see.
Just thought I'd share.

John, congratulations on being chosen as a expert on Hoover vacuums. You certainly would be the ideal choice from all the members on Vacuumland :-)

Now, if you don't mind me asking, why does this law firm want to retain you as a expert? Do they have a client that's planning on writing a book? Design a new Hoover vacuum model?

signed all the papers Yesterday.

I can't say much at the moment. but, I CAN say that it is very exciting. I'm currently gathering tons of models for photography sessions, etc.
Of course, I'm compiling very detailed facts about tons of stuff.
Thanks, as always, to my "brother from another mother", Tom Anderson. All I can divulge, at the moment, is that it is, in a word, WILD.

Congratulations!

Perhaps this means some remodeling of the current Hoover line to bring back more bagged machines of good quality that cleaned well and were pleasant sounding. Please show them the vault power nozzle canister vacuums that you have and Hoover Celebrity vacs with power nozzles. It is very upsetting to me that Hoover doesn't currently produce a power nozzle canister vacuum to my liking and yet I grew up with them!
