Hey Everyone. Just received 3 packages of machines from England. Unfortunately 4 of the 10 machines were damaged in shipping (Customs opened the packages and didn't repack them well)

These 3 are the major damage - I am hoping that I can make one model 310 out of the two (the second was supposed to go to a friend). The handle on one is toast and there is a crack in the front cover that I hope I can glue. The front cover is completely toast on the second one.

The 80 needs a handle (and the rug nozzle) if anyone has some spare parts.

Doug

That being said here are the rest of the machines that I received.

First the Electrolux model 16 (with the damaged hose connector hidden LOL)

Next the Electrolux model 117 (No the manual isn't a misprint. They called the lower line machines at that time the Electrux by Elextrolux)

Wow Doug, SO SORRY about your Electrolux casualties. Boy can I ever commiserate ... "Been there, done that, have the bits and pieces to prove it."

I =LOVE= the Models 16 117 48, especially the 48 -- the front-cover latch is a masterpiece of over-engineering! What about the Model 117 makes it an economy model?

What years were these three models manufactured?

Thanks for all the great photos. :)

Hi Charlie:

Tried to post this earlier but something happened with the site and it seems to have dissappeared.

I should have posted the years with the machines. Here they are anyway.

Model 16 - 1933-1934 (BOL)
Model 117 - 1947-1948 (BOL)
Model 48 - 1951-1956 (BOL)
Model 62 - 1957-1959 (TOL)
Model 77 - 1967-1970 (BOL)
Model 80 - 1967-1969 (TOL)
Model 310 - 1970-1973 (Delux model)
Model 303 - (Early 80's - don't have exact dates) - Mid Range model

Hi George - The 303 is one of my favorites. I've been looking for it for quite a while. Now if I could only find the rug nozzle and dusting brush :)

Nice 302 by the way

Doug

Hi,

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">Hi Doug, Sorry to hear about your vacs turning up damaged. It's happened to me as well.

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">Hopefully you can make one good 310 out of the two. Did you get all the attachments for the 310s?</span>

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">I hate to think how much the postage cost having 10 vacs posted from the UK to Canada.</span>

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: book antiqua,palatino;">Happy New Year.</span>

hi doug

it is not ok if things arrive that way. had it with a miele once. i am doing a bit better, you know what i mean ;-)) still kept that 307 for you. still want it?

best wishes Edgar

Hi James, Guy - Happy New Year

Hi Edgar - Happy New Year. Yep I'd still like the 307 when you get around to it. Give me a yell for the address when you are ready.

I managed to salvage and repair enough pieces to put one of the 310's together. There is still a crack in this handle and one in the front cover but I've glued them. Hopefully they will stay together well.

Here's the result.

And finally - the gem of the collection. Al also sent me a gift in the package (Which customs so nicely also ripped open for me). Thankfully there was no damage to it. A machine that I have wanted for a long time. A Goblin Wizard!!!!

It also has one other distinction. I've collected vacuums for over 40 years and this is the first time anyone has EVER given me one as a Christmas gift. Thank you so much Al.

Everybody

........Happy new year!!

Doug,

Another great haul despite the damage?

Ive been there!!!

That's the Wizard that I was looking at for a friend in Wales, but it turned out he had that model. Glad you have it. Its had quite a journey from Kilmarnock, Scotland to Surrey to Moose Jaw!

I think Al should be awarded the prize of Santa 2013!!

James,

I saw you on 'Obsessive Compulsive Collectors' on TV. Are all of your cleaners housed at your shop?

Regards, Walter, Shropshire, UK.
