I converted an Electrolux PN to use with the old metal canisters a while back.
I went with black for the elbow.
I also had a very ugly plastic sheath that had discolored.

I rejuvenated both with a pewter gray Krylon Fusion finish, which came out as a light gray. (It does not show correctly in some pics, but it is a light gray)
I carefully sand the plastic pieces before I spray light coats of the Krylon. My past pieces have held up well, with no chipping.

Krylon mentions no prepping needed, but I feel a light sanding to remove the gloss helps. Also, it comes out better if you spray multiple light coats, waiting a bit for each coat to dry.

Looks nice. I've been thinking of painting my PN4A teal to match the 1205 I most often use it with, but I'd need to find paint that's a reasonable match. If I had access to media blasting equipment, I'd just strip off the scratched up Silverado gray factory paint and leave it in its natural shiny aluminum state.

Well, I have a number of Electrolux PN's (PN4, PN6, & PN6A's) chrome, painted, and plastic, but I think I will leave them alone.
I have two of the modern PN's that came with the Renaissance vacs that I quickly got rid of. I have converted one already, (added a rocker switch as well).

I will have to convert the other one.
added elbow, pigtail, LED light, improved brush roll (double helix), and rocker switch.
So they will be similar to the N115 P/N's
---------------
Still to find paint to match the original Silverado color (getting close)

Cool, good to see work like this here on VL.
The more mods, upgrades, and/or customized vacuums the better I say.
Mix up the colors and bojack the hell out of it as if it suits you.
My handle comes the the desire to have the standard Sanitiare model with every part being from a different copy-cat manufacturer...all cobbled together into one grand "bojack" patch work vacuum masterpiece!

A good source for paint colors...

is Auto Parts Stores. I found an exact match to a Kenmore Intuition so I could paint a white PN.

I was surprised of the match.

I want to get a can of Hammered Rustoleum in light blue to repaint one of my Electrolux vacuums.

Will have to order it as I can not find it locally.

That turned out GREAT! I have some I'd like to touch up as well, I just haven't had a chance to do it yet! One question though, where did you get that replacement Electrolux decal? I'm sure you would have lost the factory decal when you painted the cover! Thanks!!

Steve

only the elbow was sprayed on the PN. Replacement elbows for it are either black or beige(cream colored).
The PN was converted from a Renaissance/Guardian connector to the older type.
