Kitchenaid Mixers

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I've got a couple of chrome Sunbeam Mixmasters from the '70s. They're plenty powerful, fit my needs nicely and weigh a lot less than a Kitchenaid. One is chrome with a chrome base and the other is a Vista with built-in work light that has a brown bakelite base. At one time, I had four Mixmasters but I gave one to a girlfriend (we're not together anymore but no regrets there, we parted as friends and I'm glad she has it) and donated the other, which was really just a conglomeration of spare parts assembled into an almost complete mixer, to my church's rummage sale.

Kenwood mixer---The Kenwood Major/Viling I have--10A motor-this thing is a roto-tiller in a bowel. The late Kelly laughed about that and agreed. The container capacity of mine is 7 Qt.Beaters solid stainless steel.

A follow-up:

From left to right, those are 7-, 6-, and 5-quart models. The finish is Sugar Pearl Silver Metallic, which color isn't used much anymore, so I won't be able to add anything else to that set, not that I need to! Mixer expert John Pease's favorite color is Candy Apple Red, and I'm going to try to convince him to pose with a photo of his collection, at least these same three models in that color.

Excellent machinery!

Design, function, everything. I only have one: in white. I DO love the baby blue (I forget the real name) one, but, can't justify buying another one. I thought, :if it wears out, I can replace it". Then I realized, it won't wear out. Mine doesn't get used hard, but, it does get its share of usage. Too many colors from which to choose. I always say, "Give me anything but an option!".

Sunbeam MixMasters I like

Model 9, Model 12, V-14CS, and 701-10D (Chrome Vista with metal stand, light, and dough hooks with added Disco-Chef slicer/shredder - 4 blade model) Have a joggling juicer for them all too.
