They both appear to be models 516 to 561. The one on the right was factory rebuilt in the 1980s or later, which explains the tan trim.

This pic suggests a great solution to the hassle of converting a Kirby to hose-cleaning mode: get two of 'em!!!! One ready to go in carpet mode, and a second ready to go in hose mode!!

I love the Kirby's. in NZ those that have them love em!!!! They sell for $4700.00 NZD in NZ less trade in so they are out of the reach of most! Shame as they do last a life time if looked after!...mike
