the other day I came across a Kirby 12 volt car vac. I cant recall wht it was called does anyone remember the name what model of Kirby it was sold with and if it was of Kirby quality
It was called the Vacuette (not to be confused with the upright machine of the same name from the late 19-teens/ early-20s, of which there were both electrically and mechanically powered versions).
It's made of plastic, really has nothing to distinguish itself other than the Kirby name. The metal Royal hand-vac is probably a better machine.

You're referring to the Split Second. That was like Black & Decker's trendsetting Dustbuster. It was seen with the Heritage II in promotional material.
