Kirby Zip brush question

Does anyone here use the Kirby Zip brush? I ordered one from Ebay and the thing spins SOOOOO fast and hard that it could actually cause bodily harm!!! I tried those other ones made by Eureka and Hoover, but my Filter Queen causes those to self-destruct and makes parts fly across the room...Let me know what you think.....Bill in Az....

I had the Zipp-brush with my Diamond Edition. I didn't like it. Very big and bulky, and you don't get the agitation of the carpet/fabric which you do with ordinary mini turbobrushes.

Excellent Tool

Your Zip Brush is a great tool. Better than any air driven tool I've seen. You're right too. It operates with so much power that you could injure yourself! Watch your fingers!

How does it compare?

To the Kirby Turbo Brush? I've thought about getting one but not sure if they are worth the money? I got a Kirby for my brother and SIL for a wedding gift and it came with the ZIP brush. We got it out and they loved it, but I thought it was a little bulky.

i have one and it works great on pet hair. actually the first time i used one i tested it on my carpet and boy did that thing pick dirt. every cm i would move i had a hose full of dirt. very good device. and yes it is a little bulky

How Does It Compare?

I have both the Turbo unit and the zip brush. Got the zip brush with my G6 and there is no comparison between the two! The zip brush is bulky and easily slows down with the slightest pressure while the turbo tool continues on it's merry way. Turbo tool is a bit more convenient as it swivels at the neck and not nearly as large as the zip brush. I'm able to use the turbo tool on throw rugs but can't use the zip brush without having to secure the throw rug to keep it from being caught in the revolving brush part (when it is turning, that is!). Plus, the turbo tool has a vent to reduce suction for light weight rugs to allow it to still be used. In my opinion, Kirby should have stuck with the Turbo and ditched the zip brush.

Did Kirby stop manufacturing the TurboBrush. I think this tool would interest me for doing my stairs and my car carpets.

Think I'll call my Kirby rep to see if be has one. I guess eBay might be a good second chance. Can you use them on a G series machine.

The Turbo Brushes

Are actually manufactured by Vacuflo. They are called the Rug Rat. Kirby never manufactured them and I think that they are the best air-driven small turbo-brush there is. Here is a link to get one new.

I have the RugRat tool with my VacuFlo system and its outstanding. I never liked the ZipBrush and when I had one the disc holding the bristles would constantly fall out. The RugRat works wonders on pet hair and I even like to use it with a Lux tank to vacuum the rug in my car. It leaves such nice clean lines in the gray car carpeting!

Oh.. Dont buy a RugRat direct from VacuFlo, its a rip-off. You can find them without the VacuFlo logo for nearly half the price!

I had one

I had a ZIP Brush, until my dog got a hold of it and used it as a chew toy. I loved it, used it mostly on furniture. It was better than the standard upholstery tool. I will have to get one again. I also have the sander attachment for the Kirby. It works pretty good.

I have zip brush that I like pretty well. I also have a turbo brush that I bought at Wal-Mart labled for Shop vac. It fits the Kirby hose perfectly and the Kirby really spins it. My biggest gripe is the turbo brush bogs down with dog hair real quickly. The zip brush doesn't clog as badly but you still need to stop and clear it occasionally.

I found today the original Kirby Zip brus on Ebay for $14.00. I need more vacuum parts like I need a brain tumor (he, he).....Bill in Az.....
