Kirby Utility Vacuum Cleaner vs. Thomas A Edison Edicraft Utility Cleaner?

I found this hand Vacuum Cleaner in my Grandfather's attic about 12 years ago and never paid it much mind. Never could find any literature on it and so it sat in my attic since. I noticed it looks almost identical to this Kirby Utility vacuum model except bares the nameplate "Thomas A Edison Edicraft Utility Cleaner." I see it reads PAT PEND Licensed by JAS B Kirby in small text. Unfortunately it has seen better days. The bag also bares the Edison Logo. Any additional information such as age or history you may know would be greatly appreciated

Very cool. Does it have any dates on it at all? Or any other patents? Really unusual looking, what is the cylindrical thing near the nozzle? Really cool looking!

The round thing near the nozzle is the place where you would put insecticide so you could fog a room I guess. The front nozzle actually moves up and down. One spot is for use as to vacuum things up. The other spot is for using the insecticide part. If you are interested, there is a patent for this under James Kirby. Just go to the Google patent section and look it up. The patent drawing looks a little different than the Utility that we have seen, but its pretty close. Congrats on finding such a rare gem. I don't think anyone knew another brand was used with the Utility. I looked up the Edicraft name and it looks like that company mainly made toasters and some other small appliances but I can't find any reference to any vacuums.
