Kirby ultimate carpet cleaner?

I have started a new cleaning ability test series.
I have one clear narrow see through tube with 140 millimeters of sand what I put to the each vacuum.
Carpet is always being reset with the Miele C3 & Sebo ET-1 ph. It has done excellent job doing that.
So after I have made sure that the carpet is fully clean I put 140 mm sand for each vacuum and measure how much they was able to pick up.
Kirby G6 did something new.

So far results are:
Electrolux Precision 126mm out of 140mm
Dyson DC40 mkII 124mm out of 140
Miele C3 with the straight suction nozzle 30mm out of 140mm
Nilfisk GM80 with the turbo brush 91mm out of 140mm

Now comes the Kirby. Not only it was able to pick everything up, but it also picked up what others leaved behind.
So I am literally stunned.
Miele wasn't able to pick up well as I thought.

This test has made my mind to really understand how good the Kirby really is.

It’s amazing to watch videos....low and kinda close up...to see the Kirby lift the carpet up to itself! That’s why it’s so important to have the right setting for the brushroll at the ‘correct’ height...so it doesnt beat the carpet but instead agitates it and the huge airflow does the rest

Yes agitation and airflow is what Kirby knows the best.
I have stiff oblique brushroll in it and I use hepa bags.

That's why I say I don't just vacuum, I Kirby!

I know of only one other vacuum cleaner that can out clean any Kirby on carpet and that is my 10 amp Royal Everlast 8300. The airflow and agitation is so great that even if the machine is stationary, particles of Oatmeal will bounce around and gravitate toward the floor nozzle from up to 2 feet away!


 


What an awesome cleaning machine! The only downside is that it is rather loud.

Absolutely the vacuum I ever used! Plus, I know people like to have separate canisters but I really like to use them with the hose.

Do they still make the everlast with the headlight? I've looked on their website and the advertisement shoes it but the page for the vacuum doesn't. Also, about how much do cost?

Ha, I can relate....I have 2 Royal uprights in addition to my Kirby collection....they work VERY effectively....especially the 10amp 4000 model.

Sadly, Royal no longer makes the 8300. Mine was made in 2008 and it retailed for around $750.00 at that time.


 


I was browsing ebay yesterday and saw a brand new, still In Box, Royal Everlast 8300 exactly like mine and they want $400.00 for it which is probably worth it considering it is NIB. I was tempted to buy it because it bay be worth even more in a few years.

They may not filter the best

but not much matches their airflow and agitation. And, they filter good enough for me. I have a house full of allergy-sufferers, and the Kirby doesn't bother them. You can't beat the look of a freshly-Kirby'ed carpet. Not surprising that the Royal gets similar results, being that they're quite similar in design.

I have several Royal 10A metal uprights-one is an Everlast model.The work well-but NOISEY!!!The Kirbys are somewhat quieter.The Kirbys do the same job as the Royal with a lower amp draw motor.You do feel the power in your hand when you use a Royal.And it shakes the carpet and floor more than the Kirby.Too me they really don't clean much better than the Kirby.Do like both,though-so I have both!My Everlas looks similar to the one in the picture.When I use the Filtrete HEPA style bags in the Royals they blow zero on the IQair meter when tested near the bag.Will have to try the coupling of the bag on the Kirby and Royal.

Royal Filtration just as good as Kirby...

I use the Royal Type B synthetic HEPA bags in my Royal 8300 so I get the same filtration as the Kirby HEPA bags in my Royal. Filtration down to 0.3 microns.


 


I will have to say that the Royal Type B synthetic filterete HEPA bags are quite expensive, even on ebay. They are about $6.50 each or $13.00 for a 2 pack. However they do last a long time.

I Kirby my place as well.

I too have never had any issues with the filtration of the disposable system. I have cleaned up dry wall dust with no escape of the dust and also the powder from a dry chemical fire extinguisher. No noticeable dust escape there either.
