Handi- Butler
One way to get it to trigger the safety /speed switch is to place someting behind the unit in just the right location to activate it. I did this with a much earlier model edition of handi-butler to work on my Heritage II model Kirby in which that switch is the same exact type as the Legend II. I found a thin, small piece of wood to fit where the switch tab is located and cut it to about half and inch and used copious amounts of electrical tape to hold it in place. Do not make the piece longer or it will trigger the high speed (which would be wrong for this part on a Kirby)-- it would spin too fast. After about 20 years, it still works.
