Kirby Sanitronic brushroll

Was wondering if there are brushrolls available for the sanitronic style Kirby with 2 rows of bristles? I have brand new, farily plush carpet in my apartment. My Classic is a little large to maneuver around in my space but i love the way it makes my carpet look. I would like to be able to use my sanitronic more but I just don't feel like it's cleaning well enough for some reason and I can't tell that it's even grooming the carpet at all. I keep the bag empty and have adjusted the brushroll as much as I can. Any feedback would rock!

I did check last Friday at my local Kirby store to see about the Dual 80. He did not have any at this time but he did have so Dual 50's. I told him I was on the hunt for one and I will keep looking for you a Dual 80.

Yes there was a small auger/brushroll that went on the smaller head that came out with the Hearitage Kirby. I put one of those brush rolls on a dual 50 that my mom used once in a while. I did seem to sweep better. I do not know if they still make them anymore or not but that might help. Also just getting a new brush roll might help with your machine. I know they still do make those brush rolls, especially since you have adjusted it the one you have already and did not sotice a difference.

I actually bought a brand new brushroll about a year ago and I still can't tell a difference. My sanitronic actually needs a makeover its self. Even though all of the trim, bag etc is the same color, it's pretty much what I've seen people on here refer to as a frankenkirby. It has the sanitronic power plant and handle, but the front nozzle is from an older model. the belt lifter is tan in color and round. The bag, even though less than two years old is the old style, pre-sani-pocket style with the fabric flap covering the metal tube at the top. It is tan and doesn't look bad as it is a Scott & Fetzer bag and everything matches, but it just bugs me knowing that the cleaner itself isn't true to form. I know an original power cord with the brown tips and white cord will be next to impossible to find as well. I have the rubber Bag topper that has the circular kirby logo and Sanitronic written on it, just can't use it.. that's another question... I've seen some Sanitronics with the bag topper on the bag with the writing facing backwards and the plain side on the front and then I've seen some with the writing facing the front.. which way are they supposed to be on?

Sanitronic brush rolls

You can get Kirby brush rolls with four brush strips instead of two, and they do a much better job of agitating and cleaning carpets. Charles Chatham has them, or used to anyway. They are available in all three sizes - Sanitronic, Heritage/Legend small, and Classic.

Small Kirby Nozzle

I must chime in to affirm Charles-Richard's experience with the small nozzle on the Legend. The smaller nozzle does make a difference with these machines. I am going to look into the brush roll with the extra brush strips too.

I am not sure if I am correct....

When I was mentioning the auger type roller that meant that they brush pulled everything toward the center of the machine as it ran so it was easier,or seemed to be easier to suck things into the machine, as it brought the dirt to the middle. I remember that being a big selling factor on the Heritage. I am not sure if all the 4 row brush rollers did this or not. Am I right Charles, or Alex?

Can't go by me

Age must be catching up with me. I remember quoting from the "Proof Book" of the Kirby Classic 3 that there was edge cleaning as part of the carpet nozzel, so I checked the owners manual and the underside of the carpet nozzle is NOT outfitted with edge cleaning air vents. This is very strange because I made that a main selling feature.

From now on the old man will stick to what he knows best early electric and non-electric machines.
