I purchased a Kirby 1-cr classic and a rug renovator. Is it possible to use the new suds/shampoo in this older system or will it not foam?

And i read somewhere online that the year manufactured was in the casting somewhere and i haven't found it, did i read wrong?

Dry foam formulas

A few years ago when I still had a G3 and rug renovator attachment, I took a gamble and tried Diversey Dry Foam Shampoo and Encapsulation Cleaner. I was interested in the fact that the dirt is “encapsulated” in a fast drying polymer and not just trapped in the dried shampoo foam. Everything came right up with the vacuuming when it was dry. It worked really well for me because I was using it in a high traffic area where it wasn’t feasible to have carpeting overly wet. I attached a link below.

Diversey Dry Foam Shampoo

I might try this. I've been looking for an alternative. I've been shampooing carpets on the weekends.  I've had seven clients so far. I first use my B8 with Kirby shampoo to scrub the carpet and then an extractor to extract it. I use a little bit of Hoover Oxy solution in my extractor. I get on my knees to scrub any stubborn spots.

The B8 is wonderful because of the nap lifters. I use the nap lifters after shampooing it helps the carpet to dry faster and get out more gunk.

Since the Areus stores closed in my area. I would have to order the Aerus Turbo shampoo online and it cost quite a bit more than the Kirby brand. I think Kirby shampoo works a little bit better too!

This should work fine with the B8

I mentioned this product earlier because of its instructions for using in a dry foam generator and the fact that Kirby’s setup acts as one. It has instructions for conventional shampooing and encapsulation cleaning as well.
