First.... look at this link... some lady is selling a complete Kirby SENTRIA for 150 bucks! I paid more than that for my G5! She mustn't know what she has! And it's only an hour away (by where my ex-boyfriend lives... never mind! She's probably sold it anyway at that price... someone got or will get an awesome deal!)

Anyway... I do have a question. I've noticed a recurring problem with Kirbys and I wonder what the reason for it could be. When I turn the vacuum on, the motor comes on and then there is a bit of a delay... THEN the headlight comes on. This happens with my Heritage 2, Dual Sanitronic 80 and my friend's G4, though my G5 is fine. What can cause that, and how do you fix it? When I use my Heritage 2, the light actually flickers on and off with the motion of the machine (or possibly handle position?)!

Thanks :o)

bulbs

I had the same problem with my Sanitronic 50 and my Classic and Classic Omega. The guy at the vac shop gave me a slighty larger bulb to try in each of them.. so far, they work flawlessly. I thought it was a short since these are older vacs, but it was just that the smaller bulbs that were in them couldn't handle it for very long. I have yet to have that happen to any one of my Heritage/Legend Models or G3 though...

Yeah, I notice the same problem. I just bought a few 15 watt bulbs from a local vac shop and installed one in the Hoover model 61 I just had serviced. The filament was so flimsy, it blew out in no time at all. Since then, I've installed a longer 25-watt bulb and it seems to be working fine.
