I recently aquired a kirby G5 and an ultimate G Diamond edition. Both of which could use a major polish. I purchased the mothers polish in the red and white can, and it helped, but didn't give that brand new looking mirror shine that I see all of you posting. I currently don't own a buffer and am restricted to polishing by hand. I really want them to look like new. Do I just need to keep going? I have already spent hours on each, or is there a different product that works better? Currently a Rainbow collecter and am new to the Kirby family! Help! Thanks!

You CAN keep hand polishing, but for that wonderful mirror finish, you have no choice but a buffer! Harbor Freight carries cheap ones!

Thanks!

I will try the steel wool idea, and if that doesn't work I'll look for a buffer. I'm not knowledgable enough in kirby to take them apart either...

Like super sweeper said, you can go to harbor freight, and for $39, get a buffer. Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation.
I've had mine for two years and it still works great.
