Kirby polishing service

I have a vintage Kirby that just needs polishing. It runs fine so no other work needs to be performed. I don't really want to spend $350 to send it to Kirby for them to give it an overhaul.

Does anyone know a shop or service that would perform the polishing? I don't have the time or professional equipment to do a nice job. Live in Manhattan. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Your best bet would be to buy some Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish and hand polish yourself. It won't get rid of the "liver spots" but it will make it shine. It only takes about 20 minutes for me to polish my Kirby's like that. If you can't find Mother's, look for Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and Rust Remover.

My local Kirby office offers to buff older Kirbys for a flat $75.00.  See if your local branch offers this.
