A neighbor has offered me a free Kirby Omega in nice shape- works and is complete. I would be using this vacuum frequently and the idea of a dump out bag is a no-go for me. would a Sentria II bag assembly fit and function on the omega?

No it wouldn't. The exhaust is in a different position. Use a mini-emptor assembly with fill tube and bag adapter from a Heritage II - Legend II. That way you can use HEPA bags. A Sentria II outer bag looks good on an Omega.

Please see the youtube video above posted by kirbyclassicIII- obviously a Sentria II bag can be installed on a Classic Omega.

What I want to do is outfit a Classic Omega to accept a HEPA disposable bag vs the current dump bag set up. I cannot use a dump bag system due to my allergies unless I get another household member to empty it which will not happen.

So, I understand that I need a heritage II or Legend mini emptor. Obviously a heritage II or Legend fill tube will fit on that emptor. Will a sentria II fill tube fit as well??

Really? I'm sorry for the misinformation. I've tried it before, and it didn't work. Mine didn't fit on the Em-Tor, and there would be no place to clip the bag anyways. It seems your best option here is to track down a Heritage II Em-Tor and use that with the new HEPA Kirby bags that fit both the new F-Style connector and the older twist connector.

What you need is:

1X Sentria II outer bag
1X Heritage II/Legend/Legend II mini emptor
1X Heritage II thru G5 fill tube
1X G5 elbow
4X Long zip ties (2X for each end of the fill tube

A note about the last item on the list, the elbow: Any elbow designed to be screwed into the Heritage II thru G5 fill tube will work, however the G5 elbow is the one I recommend. For one, it grips the fill tube better. For two, it grips the disposable bag better. Forr three, it has the loop and fork at the top enabling it to be suspended and supported inside the Sentria II outer bag.

With this setup, you can use genuine Kirby HEPA disposable bags. The cardboard collars on these have the means to fit to both the F Type elbow, like the Sentria II uses, and the previous twist type elbow, like you would be installing in your setup. Regardless of the elbow you choose, you’ll actually be using the exact same HEPA disposable bag.

Hope this clears things up.

Hey

You can do it a few ways. Easiest Kirby needs is selling an emtor fill tube and sentria 2 topper

Buy that put your brown or rosewood emptor tray on bottom bag over the top. If you have emtor pocket cut it out and use that to access bag. You could see a zipper on yourself.
I have done 4 setups. I had bag sewn for classic tradition I made my own and took out the style 1 bag put in sentria. They do make I believe a twist on.top sentria 2 style that fits heritage fill tube. I did one 2 days ago. So I have not read other posts but if you have set up spend $9 and get tube that is twist on.

broomvac,

what elbow are you referring to? I've added a HII mini emptor to several older machines but can't recall any 'elbow' needed/used. Are you referring to the piece attached to the fill tube...at the top in the outer bag that you connect the hepa bag to?

Konfused Kelton

@Kelton: Correct! The elbow I am referring to is the piece which makes the connection between the flexible fill tube and the disposable bag. I call it an elbow, like how one might refer to the analogous 90-degree adapter for PVC piping, but I should have been more specific. Kirby may formally call this piece a “bag adapter,” but don’t quote me on it.
