I recently bought a bottle of Kirby Odorific II Original Scent and don't know why I didn't try it sooner. I've thrown out several hardly used 3M Kirby bags as they started to stink. I never had a problem until I got a dog, and he's pretty clean! Miniature Schnauzer's hardly shed but the hair that I do get from the floors makes the bag smell in a few weeks.

I've tossed them out with literally a couple of inches of dirt in the bottom due to the stench.

I put about 5 drops on a cotton pad and stuck it on the Style F bag tab so it would be held in place away from the outer cloth bag. (Was afraid of it staining the cloth bag).

Now everytime I use the Kirby it has a pleasant "Kirby" scent - I'll look forward to the cost savings on these bags now - they are pretty pricey and are very large so it was such a waste to throw them out before!

Which smell is it, I use the cinnamon one its lovely

I have also just laundered the outer bag so it will smell lovely.

Its safe to use on the dust bag it doesnt stain and you get more coverage this way.

I agree, Orderific is a fantastic product! It has such a clean fresh scent.

Odorific

has its own unique smell. The first Kirby I bought new (Kirby Omega) came with a bottle in it's sani-pocket. So I always kept it there. I liked the smell. and it did keep the odors of dog hair down in the bag...

I love odoriffic

I put a drop or two on a cotton ball and suck it up in the Kriby. I use it it my other machines too, however, it don't work none too good in the Rainbow. It dilutes quickly with little smell and turns the water murkey.

I use Odorific

I put about 6 drops on a cotton ball and use in my Sebo Felix and it is good for the entire bag.The fragance is so clean. And have put in some of my other vac's

I have used the product in my Kirby for years too. What is bothering me is the whole concept that I am buying expensive machines and paper bags and then trying to COVER the nasty smells with another product.
Now don't get me wrong because I LOVE my Kirby and used it for years and years before I ever got into the vac club or collecting but the last several months I have been using my Rainbow and it does JUST the opposite. I add water in the basin and NEVER any smell. In fact I ran a pie over in the oven yesterday and the Rainbow with just PLAIN water in the basin removed the smokey and smell faster than my air purifier could handle. I was quite surprised at the speed it removed all traces of the smoke and odor.
It just seems crazy to have to buy all the expensive hepa bags and hepa filters and deordorizer just to control the nasty odors from our machines. I guess it is GOOD business for the people who make the machines!
It took me several weeks to get used to dumping the basin but now I have it down to about 20 seconds. It could not take any more time than driving to buy bags and filters or spending time on the internet and paying shipping to buy bags, filters and deororizers. All interesting to me as a collector.
Of course things have changed over the years as the cost of the paper bags have gone up and up and we no longer have the "friendly Electrolux man" or "Your Air-Wayman"coming around every 6 months to bring yiou new bags. Now that ages me!
