converitng D8 nozzles
All it really takes is a small L shaped piece of metal screwed to the back of the head or on the throat of the nozzle in the correct place to trip the safety swich on any of the Heritage series. The best place would be on the throat of the nozzle as not to collect lint in the air path in the nozzle from a screw coming thru the back side.
Kirby used to "adapt" the shampooer nozzle from the Classic kirby to trip the swich on the Classic Omega models so the shampooer could be used on either model machine. They did it on my moms kirby so the shampooer could be used on her classic omega or her moms classic kirby. You did have to have the nozzle for the classic machine as it had a lip on the fan case that matched a cut out on the back of all the heads for the classic model. That head would fit the newer machine. Previous models and models after the classic didn't have that lip.
