It all depends on originality. Does it have its original bag? (a big plus) Original cord (also big plus)? Trim pieces, and wheels?
Often times older kirbys were sent in for rebuilds and came back with unoriginal different colors.
Also condition can play a decent part in it. Kirby vacuums clean up well and fairly easily, but value depends on how much one wants to put into the machine. The bag is preferably hole free, and cord usable.
Post some pictures if you can.

Many people who are not collectors of vacuums assume that because there are people that do collect them that makes the vacuum very valuable. That's not always the case. If a vacuum is very rare(hard to find, may have been produced in small number or sold in limited areas) AND in great condition(looks as if it has never been used) then it CAN be worth big money. Kirbys were produced in massive numbers and sold all over the country. That makes the value of a Kirby 'drop like a rock'. If you are planning to sell it on-line, such as on eBay, you might have trouble getting more than $30 for it unless you have attachments to go with it, or if it is in really good shape or in original shape(no replacement parts, it's got all it's parts from the factory). If you have pictures of it, please post them here and we can tell you what price it could go for.

heres some pictures I made a album on my email account it was faster and supported bigger file sizes. Any info any1 can offer would be appreciated. This was my grandmas and I know not all is original but I put it together and did the living room carpet with it tonite and it still works.Ron

Unfortunately, it has been modified quite a bit. That will detract from its value for a collector. It's missing the original handle grip, bag, Sani-Emtor, cord, and belt lifter. It looks like it may also be missing the original wheels, at least on the back. Are they red? Anyway, it is rare to find an all-original 511. I was lucky enough to find one and paid $75.00 for it. But it didn't have all the accessories that yours has.

Here's my 511. I haven't had time to rebuild it, but I hope to do that later this year. It looks a little rough right now, but after I get it into the spa, it will look as good as new!
the wheels are black and okay you answered some of my questions, I am not nor will I ever be a collector of vacuums but I am getting married in 6 weeks so extra money would help So I was trying to get a rough idea of its value so I could list it on ebay.

Thanks, Kirby Classic, any idea of value? I know that because it's not a low mileage, number-matching original, it's not worth what, say, a mint in the box never used one would command, but a ball park would be good. I still use it, and it works just fine...
