Help Support VacuumLand:

Hi Paul.

Thanks for the nice words, however, John Lucia also contributed to every issue I did. When I asked Charles Richard to print and publish, it was a group effort. I wrote a letter to the club, John followed with his thoughts, then Charles added a few words. From there it was open to all members. Contributions, stories, pictures, and whatnot. Without the members, John and Charles, it could not have been done. Thanks to all who worked on the newsletter.

Alex Taber.

You're welcome, Alex,

I will also thank John Lucia and Charles Richard Lester for their efforts and talents in composing and editing the V. C. C. C. newsletter in its earlier years. Their interest and dedication--along with yours--was the foundation of not only the club but also this website.

Looking forward to reading and viewing your retrievals as you are able to post!

John,

I'll take your word about Mr. Hoover's penmanship and assume he wasn't instructed in the A. N. Palmer Handwriting Method--ha.

Regarding the Hoover logo, the same lettering in the red circle logo was kept for many years until the current Helvetica capitals--right? I don't think I have seen the variations in it as I have seen with Kirby's variations.

Paul,

you are right about the HOOVER stuff.
Alex, I have 2 Fabulous Dustpans. Wouldn't it have been great to see a book written AFTER that? That's when it all started to 'hop' in N Canton. a shame no sequel.Paul, I am a "certified' A.N. Palmer Method instructor. That and $1.50 will get you a coke in a cheap machine.

John,

Thanks and LOL--while I can't copy Palmer's penmanship exactly, I have to say that I am in the ballpark of it and Parker Zaner Bloser's cursive. With that I think I'll grab a Coke.

David and Alex,

Thanks for sending me to Calem's thread. It's too bad about the poor packing and ultimate damage to his Kirby, but the thread produced lots of good info. and pics!
