Kirby Heritage II

This is a vacuum that Got my passion started.
My Grandmothers Heritage II,
She bought it brand New In the fall of 86' If im not mistaken.
All of the attachments and the Rug Renovator are in place In the caddy as they should be in her basement.
Everything is original, Even the brushroll.
I do not own this vacuum but I might as well.
Im the only one that has used it for the past 15 years
And im the only one that does the upkeep on it.

And here is the brushroll
It was used on 2" shag for almost all of it's life,
Hence why the bristles are still in good shape.

Kirby Heritage I I

Great machine, one of my all time favorites. How lucky you
are to keep you hand on it most of it's life. I'm sure it
will be officially yours one day.
I had so wanted my Grandmothers 512 Kirby in 1964. I had $50.00
and my Dad bid on it (everything went in an auction). when it
got to $60.00 he would not go any farther. Plus I knew it had
been about $75.00 new. It had everything and I was basicly (other then the ladies that came in for spring and fall cleaning)the only one that every used the attachments on it !!

As Norm said above, hopefully it will be yours someday.

(FYI: Small tip for 'ya, the brushroll is flip-flopped end-to-end. [The 'end-caps' may be 'chewed up' & need replacing if not tight fit.] On all Kirbys prior to '98 [if original brushroll], the angle of the bristles should be 'sweeping towards the center" where the "suction hole" is in the nozzle. Also, the "head" of the screw should be facing the floor surface. [I'm not able to see in the pic, if it is or isn't.])

Great vacuum, the Heritage II. It picks up more dust than any other vacuum in my collection. I hope one day too that it will be yours. I'm more of a Hoover and Eureka person, so I had to learn a lot to know how to work it!

Im Getting a new brushrool for it,
And she said it will be mine "when she dosent use it anymore"
Haha She only uses it When I use it.
But im not gonna push it,
She lets me take it on "feild trips" To my house.
And she's the best grandma I could ever ask for and
She loves my tradition so She's cool to.
LOL.

What is it with Grandma's and Kirbys? LOL. My grandma has a G4, and she says, when we move, you can have it, and they can't decide when to move lol. It will hopefully be mine soon thoug...

Granny's Kirby's....

That's the best way to get them!!!! I have both of my granny's Kirby's. My granny on moms side used a dual 80 for years, and we found the paperwork and sent it in for a factory rebuild, and it looks brilliant! That d-80 is actually what started my obession with Kirby's. Then my granny on my dads side, gave me her Kirby Heritage after her home was destroyed by the massive tornado that struck Oklahoma City on May 3rd, 1999. That Heritage was one of about three things that could be salvaged from her home. Amazingly, the only thing that broke on it was the fan. She said if I wanted to clean it up and fix it, it was mine. Those are two machines that I will NEVER part with...
