Kirby Heritage II Tools

Does anyone know exactly when Kirby changed some of the tools in its Convenience Group set to have a textured finish?

The tools in question that had the textured finish were:
Crevice Tool
Surface Nozzle
Utility Air Nozzle
Utility Brush Nozzle

At the same time, the hose tube swivel (which was still aluminum until 1987) lost the bleeder holes, but the two extension wands still had them up to the Heritage II Legend.

I want to think that when the Kirby Kaddy tool chest first came out in March 1985 to replace the cardboard box, that the four tools listed above still had a smooth finish from before, and thus I hint that they first were textured in September 1985.

Heritage II

when I purchased mine June of 1987 It came with the new hose with the molded plastic end. I traded it out for the hose with the metal attachment end. Both the straight and curved wand didn't have the bleeder holes. How ever the swivel elbow for the hard floor surface nozzle still did.

The tools in question have the textured finish with mine. I believe it was 96 that the attachments changed from the smooth finish to the textured finish. I knew some one that had the first run of the Heritage II. Still had the old style floor nozzle with the wings that wrapped around the front wheels. Her accessories where smooth like the previous models.

I'd imagine different manufacturer of tools. They could have changed molds too.
The heritage was cutting edge vacuum. I think they could have went more modern. Metal is old school vacuum. The plastic might have been attempt of cutting edge design.
The heritage line lasted close to 10 years. It brought alot of success. The bigger nozzle cr1 not everyone liked, the classic 3 same with shoddy bag. The tradition was good but had design flaws and a shoddy bag. The heritage got it right.
If you notice it was hit or miss with prior models. If anyone who likes Kirby's it's hit or miss on prior bigger nozzle vacuums. Everyone likes one of the heritags.
Ithe turbo brought zippers brush. They had groomer tool and even a jigsaw
It was there attempt to capitalize on divefsabilty of the vacuum. It was ahead of it's time in many ways. The plastic might have been a miss but heritage was a home run.
