Agreed, I no longer stock the style 3 or G3 bags in my store. I sell the G4/5 bags to go in all models from the Heritage II through the Generation series up until they switched over to the Style F bags.
Not meaning to hijack this thread, but on a related topic, what is involved in refitting a Heritage to use the later round hole bags? I've got a 1982 model Heritage that uses the Style 2 bags with the oval opening and a 2001 model G6 and if possible, I'd like to be able to keep just one style of bag on hand for both machines.
Human,
To convert your 1982 Kirby Heritage to accept the Micron Magic G4/G5 disposable bags, You need a Heritage II outer bag assembly or these Heritage II parts: Mini Emtor/Fill Tube/Bag Adapter. I hope this helps.
Thanks KirbyultimateG, that's exactly what I needed to know. I was hoping it would be possible just to replace the bag adapter at the top of the tube. I'll keep my eyes open for those parts.
Human,
You DON'T need to replace the whole outer bag assembly, just replace the bag adaptor. They are on ebay for around $10 to $14. That's way cheeper then replacing the whole bag unit.
Justin
Actually, that would be:
Kirby Tradition takes the 159056G smooth belt.
Kirby Heritage/II/Legend/Legend II takes the 301289G smooth (polisher) belt.
Kirby Generation 3 and up takes the 301291G knurled belt.
