For those of you that own a Heritage I to Legend II with the standard 16" nozzle, how would you properly re-apply the new rug plate gasket strips (154881S)?

I have a Heritage 84, and its rug plate is in need of new gaskets. Again, for those of you who have successfully replaced them, how would you apply these new gasket strips to the rug plate?

scrap off the old one. might be easier if u heat it up to loosen it. once u got it off clean the surface with some isopropyl alcohol then just start to stick the new one down. the replacements will have stick stuff on it already u just have to peal off the protective layer no need to glue or anything else.

Hmm

I noticed that heritage has different gasket than tradition.
The pic of the part you want to order I have ordered before. It has to be glued on as it's just a gasket.
If you use one pictured clean off old gasket. It only goes across outside no inner section at all. I use clear silicone make a bead where desired. You push felt onto silicone. You need a paper towel to get excess silicone.
It takes up to 24 hours to dry.
I noticed it's felt. I went and got like a 24"x24" piece of felt I cut out pieces for rug plate gaskets.

the heritage has a rubber gasket for the rub plate no glue is needed they come with sticky tape pre applied. the only felt gasket on the heritage is on the bottom tray of the emptor that gasket can be glue it but its tight enough that u can just push it in and it will hold with friction. the only gaskets that need to be glued on to the heritage that i know of are the o-ring that connects that emptor on to the machine and the one between the nozzle and the front of the machine.

Hmm

The item he has a picture of im almost positive is felt no other materials. The tradition gasket has glue but item he listed is strictly felt no rubber.
This is the tradition gasket.
I was wrong but hey.
I attached pic Kent explains installation instructions.

ya i got mine though kent about a year ago and it def a foam rubber material the 13 inch nozzle used a rubber materiel to just much wider then the 16 inch one. as far as i can tell all of the rug plate gaskets for all models being sold currently are rubber and come with self-adhesive backing on them already. the 16 inch nozzles came with a rubber one from the factory to were the 13 inch one had this white more plasticy one and it was not attached down very will it pealed off we 0 effort were the 16 inch ones u have to really get in there an scrap to clean it off.
