Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the Kirby attachments, ever since the G3 are REALLY REALLY cheezy, and poorly thought out? Even the plastic they are made out of feels cheap.
I mean,for as much as a new Kirby costs, especially the newest Sentria model, i think the attachments should be better than what they are.
Seems like the older style attachments did a better job, were more useful, and were sturdier.
The new style "floor and rug tool" is a joke,, (as are the plastic wands),,,weird and awkward to use, has a skinny suction opening right in the middle of the tool, cant get into tight corners with it hardly at all.
The Upolstery Nozzle is the same way, has this snap on plastic plate for draperies, ect, that is the same way as the rug tool,,,,cant get into corners with it because of the skinny suction opening.
But, you can snap it off, or it will snap off by itself.
Whats up with that?
Just seems like The older (up until the G3) style attachments were SO much better, in every way!
I never really saw that the felt pad attachment, that you snap onto the bottom of the head of the Kirby, and turned the belt lifter off to use, was really that handy, or did much except collect lint. You could also snap the felt pad to the bottom of the rug nozzle tool included with the attachments, but it wasnt that great.
The fact is that most people find that the whole thing with trying to hook up the attachments or the hose to the Kirby is just too much of a hassle, and they just dont bother to use them.
I think The Kirby Zip Brush is kind of handy tho,especially for pet hair, ect. The salesman could usually always clinch a sale by throwing in the Zip Brush for free!
I always thought the Handy Butler tools were really cool,,,my Grandpa used to take Grandma's DS50 down the basement to his workshop/toolbench once in awhile, and use the Handy Butler for sharpening knives, ect. He said it was the best knife sharpener he ever used, that you could also vacuum the floor with!
