What makes it a "Limited Edition?" I'm thinking it's either just the branding it "Limited Edition" or the color scheme? I found out this morning that my hubby has purchased one for me for about $400.00. This will be my first experience with a "G" series model as the Kirby's in my collection range from the DS 50 to the Heritage I. Anything I should know in advance?

not sure

I don't know the difference, but welcome to the world of G series. What a great husband you must have :o) I'm sure he's just as lucky. I asked you in another thread if you just liked vintage ones or if you liked the G series as well. The Heritage models are special to me because of nostalgia... they are from my childhood. HOWEVER, my G5 is my favorite machine and I use it every day. It still has that old classic style, and it's just about perfect... adding a transmission put it over the top. Sorry I can't answer your question, but I know you'll be enthralled with your tech drive Kirby. Maybe you'll post a picture of you using it when it arrives :o) You'll notice "weird" sound when you push it back and forth... it's just the transmission and yes they all sound like that. Make sure to put the transmission into Neutral when pushing the machine while it's off. If you leave it in Drive while off, the wheels will lock up. Have fun!

G6 Limited Edition

I have the same model as you do and I can tell you the Limited Edition moniker really doesn't mean much. I think it was just Kirby's way to make consumers think the Kirby they offered that year was different from the G6 previously offered. Kirby produced the G6 for several years. I am pretty sure all G6's made in 2001 have the "Limited Edition" on their handle. Congrats on your New G6 machine, I love mine and I use it all the time. I of course cleaned and buffed mine up so it looked better. I really love the tech drive and the power.

Does anybody here have a Sentria?

Haven't heard or seen any discussion of the Sentria. Does anyone here have one? I have a picture of one on the wall of my office and have seen one at Topeka Vacuum.

Yes-I have a Kirby sentria-those are the Kirbys that are currently being sold thru Kirby dealers. The Sentria is the current model that they demo and will sell you in your home.It is a very nice machine. The main diffrences are trhe LED headlight,Different cord minder system, new handle design(no kirby "Bank')and a different brushroll. Its stiffer than the previous model.

Oh yes-I also have the Dual speed Ultimate G-The two speed design was dropped becuase it confused customers and caused problems when customers tried to use the floor buffer and carpet shampooer on the low speed causing motor burnouts.Loved the distinctive green light switch that glowed green when the motor was put on low speed.
