Photo shows the right side of the chassis where three large connectors are fine. But there is a smaller connector with a female tab and I cannot locate it's match. The schematic from www.vacpartswarehouse.com is difficult to discern on this item. Please guide me. Thanks.[this post was last edited: 2/4/2015-02:34]

It looks like

The headlight wire. Turn it on, and see if the light comes on. The hole for the wire should be above that middle wire. It's hard to see, but it's there. Try using needle nose pliers to click it in.

Thanks for your reply...I'll try it today. You're right it is hard to see. The smaller of two wires, coming from the headlight, has to have a connection somewhere on the switch. That is what I cannot locate. Stay tuned for the news later today or tomorrow.

There should be a small connector at the top of the switch for the light and a small connector at the bottom of the switch for the other lead from the headlight. Sometimes you have to take the light tower off to get the lead into the top connector, it's inbetween the switch and the motor housing.

Following full disassembly Thursday evening I found the port

Complete take down revealed the square port with a male tab inside, just right of the Switch Mounting tab (screw hole). Even though this was right under my nose I could not find it until I got this far. Now the crud in the case will get pressure washed air dried and the G4 will go back together fully reconditioned. All screw threads will get a dab of Anti Sieze Compound as reassembly happens this weekend. This is my first complete Kirby reconditioning and I cannot wait to shampoo our carpets.

Awesome

I'm glad you found that port. It is hard to see it. I always found getting that stupid plug in, was the hardest part about reconditioning a Kirby.
