Recently I purchased a Kirby G4 at a local flea market that was in nasty condition. After I got it cleaned up it runs great. However I would like to put a metal fan in it. I have a metal fan from a Kirby Classic that I have been saving. When I removed the plastic fan I noticed that the metal fan is not compatible with the bearing seal of the plastic fan. There is a large gap between the metal fan and the housing with the seal in place. Can the bearing seal be adapted to make it work with the metal fan?
When and if I get the metal fan installed is there anything I should worry about. I know that motor will run a little slower because of the weight/increased air flow. I just don’t want my motor to fail prematurely.
